What is VoiceMyThoughts?
VoiceMyThoughts is a Chrome browser extension that places a microphone icon next to every text field on every website. Click the icon, speak, and your words are transcribed into the focused field in real time. Transcription happens on-device via Chrome's Web Speech API, so audio never leaves the browser.
Why we built it
People type in dozens of different text fields every day — emails, chat apps, AI assistants, social networks, note-taking tools, internal dashboards, support forms. Existing dictation tools typically force a copy-paste step, lock you into one app, or send your audio to a remote server. We wanted a single tool that works the same way everywhere on the web, keeps your audio in the browser, and respects your privacy.
